Sixty Belmont Avenue has a way of making people feel like they belong. Walk through the doors of the South Kingstown Elks Lodge and you're met by name, not by a number. That's not an accident. Members here have built a smoke-free lounge, a sprawling outdoor grilling area, a fire pit, and a community culture that reviewers consistently call "awesome" and "welcoming," earning a 4.7-star rating across more than 100 honest opinions.

The lodge is a working hub of Wakefield, RI life. On any given weekend you might catch a Saturday rib night that draws a crowd, a fish fry that fills the hall, or a 90th birthday party rented out for a family milestone. Bartenders like Melinda are the kind of professionals who remember your order and your name, keeping the bar fast, friendly, and worth every visit.

BPOE lodges have stood for charity, community, and camaraderie since 1868, and this chapter carries that forward on the South Shore. The grounds alone set it apart: outdoor seating, a fire pit for cooler evenings, and a hall that cleans up beautifully for private events. Come for a meeting, stay for the ribs.

What We Offer

The lodge runs a full-service smoke-free lounge open to members and sponsored guests, with a bar staff known for speed and genuine friendliness. Weekly food events rotate through crowd favorites: the Friday fish fry and Saturday rib nights are local institutions that fill seats fast, so arrive early or you'll be hearing about them secondhand.

For private events, the banquet hall is available for rent and has hosted milestone birthdays, anniversaries, and civic gatherings. Families who've used the space rave about the cleanliness, the attentive bar service, and the value. The outdoor area adds a dimension most venues can't match: a dedicated grilling area and a fire pit that turns an ordinary evening into something worth talking about.

Membership in the Elks opens doors to charitable programs, community volunteering, and a statewide network of lodges. Whether you're a longtime Elk visiting from out of town or a Wakefield local curious about joining, the door at 60 Belmont is genuinely open.

"This place is awesome. We were instantly greeted by really nice people and Melinda is a wonderful bartender. We did not make it in time for the fish fry but the ribs on Saturday sound really good. Everybody here was really nice and gave us lots of suggestions on what to do while in the area. It feels like home when you walk in and the life are dim enough keep things exciting but also well it enough to feel like everybody can chat and get to know one another."

"I was visiting this Lodge and had a great time. The people I met were very friendly and welcoming. They had a very nice smoke free lounge. The grounds are awesome. They have a grilling area, a fire pit and a raised stage for bands to play. I wish I could've stayed for the music and pig roast today! Beautiful place!"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
